Jose is my little Mustang from Mexico.  He is the most difficult horse I have ever worked with - talk about scary and a challenge - yikes !!! - but, boy has he ever come a long way.  He still makes sure he keeps me on my toes!!!  I love him dearly and we have an incredibly close bond - well, most of the time!
Woody is Rich's horse - a strong, crazy big darling - they are a perfect match for each other!
Dawn is my husband's older horse - she loves going out on rides - and it's important that she still knows she has an important job to do.  She is a Morgan and is as good as gold.
About our RIDING STYLE:

Our horses just don't care about the kind of outfits we wear - Western or English!

What they do care about, and what you will care about, is COMFORT.

Because we ride over hill and dale, and spend a lot of time in the saddle, climbing, going downhill, over rocks, and all kinds of uneven terrain, trotting and running, etc., we have found that a larger saddle is more comfortable for you and the horse.

We don't call our riding style English or Western - we just plain and simple ride the terrain.

Our style of riding includes comfort, stablity, and control - and , most of all, fun!

So, if you are looking for FORM, with all your limbs lined up with the horses' limbs, and your neck and shoulders rigid, and your legs stiff and straight - you won't find it here.

What you will begin to develop is a
natural fluidity in your riding - where you and your horse end up becoming true partners and where your horse can move freely - and your body can move freely.

If your goal is to be a dressage rider, jumper, barrel racer, team roper, etc., this is the
best starting point you can ask for.

You become very familiar and comfortable on horseback - and you also learn how to control most any horse - that is a good portion of any training and with this program, you have a great and solid foundation to continue on to your particular preference and style of riding.

ADVENTURE HORSE  RIDING near Oneida, Herkimer ,  Hamilton  & Jefferson County,  New York
About Us:

We run this business for two reasons:

  1)  So we don't have to have "real" jobs

  2)  So that every horse you come into contact with, after being here, will be a better horse because of your stay here.

It's only my husband and me that run this - we have no hired help.

We aren't into showing, or competition - we simply have the darlings because we love them to the ends of the earth.

We aren't fancy folks - more like a couple of woodchucks - and we live and breathe this lifestyle every day - and we love it - wouldn't trade it for anything.

We don't think our darlings would trade this lifestyle for anything either.  They love going out - they love doing "real" riding because that's what they are meant to do.  They never ever refuse - and generally hang out at the gate or by the driveway to see who's going out and who's coming back.

We and they are just lucky enough to be out in the boonies and these boonies have incredibly diverse terrain -big and small hills, woods, creeks, dirt trails, deer trails, no trails, mud, puddles, fields - you name it, we have it here.

Our darlings are trained using natural horsemanship and communication - there is no force or pressure of any kind - and they respond wonderfully to it.  We try, as much as we can, to act like horses ourselves, so they understand more clearly what we ask of them.  And we ask, we don't demand.  And, they give, willingly, and with trust and confidence.  And, we show you how to do this, too.

We are very proud of our them and proud of what we do.

We've had folks from as far away as California, Florida,  Denmark, Germany, England, Alberta and England - which is pretty darn amazing.

We take out only from 1 to 4 persons at any one time - 4 is the maximum - usually it's only 2 or 3 - that way, we can really  teach each person how to become a true "partner" with the darlings.

On occasion, we've had a  few folks that are pretty nervous, or have a lot of fear - and it's no big deal - because we are such a small operation  - that we can help folks work through those problems and help them become confident and skilled riders.

So, we just keep this business small - and we love, love, love what we do.  In fact, we're a tad obsessed doing this - but what a great way to live your life, eh?
